Saturday Stirrings ~ Welcome!

Welcome to Saturday Stirrings at I Throw Like a Girl!  If you’re here from DeeDee’s blog, you know what to do!  If you’re new, here’s the scoop –

Post a recipe on your blog and use Mr. Linky to link back to it.  Please link directly to the post with the recipe, not your main page so that if someone wants to look up your recipe in a few days, they can find it easily rather than scrolling through your newer posts. Then please link back to my blog so your readers can find other great recipes to try.

If you don’t have a blog, feel free to post a recipe in my comments section.

Remember, a generous sprinkling of comments all around makes it more fun for everyone!

Raspberry Bars

1 (18.25 oz) package yellow cake mix

2 1/2 cups uncooked quick cooking oats

3/4 cups butter or margarine, melted

1 (12 oz) jar raspberry preserves

– Combine cake mix and oats.  Stir in butter until mixture is crumbly.  Press about 3 cups of the mixture evenly into a greased 9 by 13 inch pan.  Spread preserves over crumb mixture.  Sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture.  Pat gently to level topping.

– Bake at 375 degrees for 24-26 minutes or until lightly browned.  Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.  Cut into bars.  Yield: 32 bars

Feel free to substitute your favorite preserves in place of raspberry.

Have fun! 🙂

  1. These raspberry bars sound fabulous and easy. My favorite kind of recipe. Thanks for taking over Saturday Stirrings. As a recent participant, I was sad to think it was going away.

My contribution this week is a fantastic Party Punch recipe. For anyone planning a summer party or shower (baby or bridal) this one is a keeper.

    Happy Saturday!

  2. So glad that you’ll be hosting Saturday Stirrings! The raspberry bars sound fabulous! I’ll have to find an excuse to make them.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. I am needing new dinner recipes and will be attending your Saturday Stirrings! I need to get inspired about a recipe to share – at the moment I am totally bored with all my regular stuff.
